Anti-Glitch Engine (RayTracing)

Pearl glitching has plagued competitive Minecraft servers for years. Players exploit boundary hitboxes on slabs, fence gates, open doors, stairs, and cobwebs to teleport inside enemy claims, walls, or suffocating blocks.

AerosPearls solves this through an advanced mathematical Axis-Aligned Bounding Box (AABB) RayTrace engine.

How the Anti-Glitch Engine Works

When an ender pearl lands and triggers a teleportation event (PlayerTeleportEvent), AerosPearls intercepts the target location before the player is moved:

  1. Bounding Box Projection: Calculates a full player collision box:
    • Width: X - 0.3 to X + 0.3
    • Depth: Z - 0.3 to Z + 0.3
    • Height: Y to Y + 1.8 (full 2-block player height)
  2. Solid Block Interception: Evaluates all intersecting blocks within that bounding volume.
  3. Safe Fallback & Refund: If any portion of the bounding box intersects non-passable solid blocks:
    • The teleportation is cancelled immediately.
    • The player receives a customizable notification.
    • If enabled, the pearl is automatically refunded to the player's inventory.
    • The pearl cooldown is reset.

WorldGuard Integration

AerosPearls also integrates with WorldGuard via dynamic Java Reflection, supporting both WorldGuard v6 (1.8.8–1.12) and WorldGuard v7 (1.13+).

If a player attempts to throw a pearl into a region with the PVP flag set to DENY or protected safezones:

  • The teleport is cancelled.
  • The pearl is refunded.
  • The player is prevented from bypassing region barriers.
